Currently I am licensed in Louisiana and Texas as a Professional Counselor and Marriage and Family Therapist. I am a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors–aacc.net and a Clinical Fellow Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy–aamft.org
I attended Baylor University and received a Bachelor of Arts with a major in psychology. I also graduated with a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
My experience has included working at an adolescent psychiatric hospital for three years, then working at a community mental health center for approximately seven years providing individual, marriage, and family counseling in Plainview, Texas. While there I provided therapy for a variety of issues including marriage and family problems, mental health issues, and substance abuse. I also provided supervision for counselors obtaining their license and coordinated crisis services and the local outpatient counseling center.
Through my private practice, I have continued to provide counseling to individuals, marriages, and families since I moved back to Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1997. For more information about my counseling services and perspective see Counseling Perspective.
