Counseling is a relationship that provides opportunity for growth and change–getting unstuck. It is a resource of encouragement in knowing God and His purpose for our lives and relationships. The counseling relationship is one of support, trust, honesty, integrity, confidentiality, and mutual responsibility. It challenges us to make healthy choices for our lives and relationships. I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and provide counseling from this perspective. I have also worked with many individuals who are not of the Christian faith with positive results.
While I enjoy very much working with individual adults (Ages 18 and older), I also have a passion for working with couples to help them develop greater intimacy. Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) is the primary approach I use to help couples achieve less conflict and greater connection in their relationship. See EFT for more details.
