I attended Baylor University and received a Bachelor of Arts with a major in psychology. I graduated with a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1987.
My experience has included working at an adolescent psychiatric hospital for three years, then working at a community mental health center for approximately seven years providing individual, marriage, and family counseling in Plainview, Texas. While there I provided therapy for a variety of issues including marriage and family problems, mental health issues, and substance abuse. I also provided supervision for counselors obtaining their license and coordinated crisis services and the local outpatient counseling center.
Since moving back to Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1997, I have provided counseling to individuals, couples, and families. For more information about my counseling services and perspective see Counseling Perspective.
